UN Expert Urges More Government Spending Targeting Inequality, not Big Business

Juan Pablo Bohoslavsky, UN Independent Expert on Foreign Debt and Human Rights, issued a letter to governments and international financial institutions calling for a dramatic increase in public spending that targets inequalities and poverty caused by the COVID-19 crisis. Bohoslavsky said that such funds should not just bail out corporations, banks and investors without prioritizing human rights or social conditions.
