The Initiative for Human Rights Principles in Fiscal Policy, the Network of Fiscal Justice of Latin America and the Caribbean (Red de Justicia Fiscal de América Latina y el Caribe) and Latindadd held a series of virtual dialogues aimed at sharing tools and exploring opportunities to advocate for a just economic recovery from the COVID-19 crisis. The dialogues gathered organizations comprising the Initiative and the Network, and experts from different fields.
Participants discussed how to advance fiscal justice in Latin America and the Caribbean by enabling cross-movement collaboration between human rights and economic justice organizations, and how to strengthen the engagement of these coalitions with grassroots organizations.
The last dialogue of the series was chaired by CESR Executive Director Ignacio Saiz and featured presentations by Soledad García Muñoz (IACHR’s Special Rapporteur on Economic, Social, Cultural, and Environmental Rights), Daniel Titelman (ECLAC), José Antonio Ocampo (ICRICT/Facti Panel), Rosa María Cañete (Latindadd), and Grazielle David (Initiative for Human Rights Principles in Fiscal Policy & Network of Fiscal Justice of Latin America and the Caribbean).
