CESR contributed substantially to the ESCR-Net Statement on the Financial Crisis and Global Economic Recession: Towards a Human Rights Response.
Withthis Statement, ESCR-Net calls for a response to the financial crisisand economic recession that places human rights norms at the center, inwhich people and the environment, not banks or business, are at thefoundation of economic policy-making. This Statement has beenelaborated to contribute to the proceedings at the UN Summit Conference on the Economic and Financial Crisis from 1-3 June, as well as the People's Voices on the Crisis to take place on the eve of the UN Summit.
