Role Requirements

The incumbent Treasurer should have experience with U.S. and particularly New York State tax and non-profit regulations. All members of CESR’s Board of Directors serve on a voluntary basis without compensation. The Treasurer will be a part of the CESR Board and expected to perform board duties like the other Board members. In addition the Treasurer requires expertise on financial, accounting and budgeting matters. The CESR Board is a supervisory body responsible for ensuring CESR’s compliance with its legal obligations (New York Law)  and overseeing the organization’s work and organizational health. As the Treasurer you will be responsible -on behalf of the Board- for oversight of the organization's financial activities, including the annual audit, budgeting, financial reporting, and monitoring performance against budgets.

The Treasurer is one of four (4) officer positions on the CESR Board, which also includes the Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary. These four officers comprise the Board's Executive Committee.

The Treasurer collaborates closely with CESR’s executive leadership team to develop financial strategies and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This is a remote role that requires communication and coordination with other Board members and the organization's leaders.
