Countries:

Germany

Region:
Global

Date: Saturday, 08 June 2024
Time: 11.45 - 13.00 CEST
Venue: Room Bonn, UNFCCC Conference Site, Bonn

Join us for a critical side event at the Bonn Climate Conference (SB60) where we will dissect the realities of loss and damage in the context of false solutions and corporate capture. This event aims to hold polluters accountable and pave the way for a just and equitable transition. The discussion will focus on the intersection of human rights, climate justice, and economic policies.

The Bonn UNFCCC intersessional meetings are mid-year climate negotiations held in Bonn, Germany, under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). These sessions are designed to advance progress on various aspects of international climate policy between the major annual Conferences of the Parties (COP). At the 60th session this year, delegates from member countries and observer organizations gather to discuss technical and implementation issues related to climate action, review progress on agreements, and prepare for the upcoming COP 29 in Azerbaijan.

Moderator: Alina Saba, CESR

Co-Organizers: APWLD, CESR, ESCR-Net, IWRAW-AP, La Ruta del Clima

This event is an opportunity to explore how false solutions exacerbate the climate crisis and what justice and accountability should look like for frontline communities.

We look forward to your participation!
