SIDE EVENT

17 June 2015

Wednesday, 15:00—16:30

Palais Des Nations,

Room XXVII

Is the UPR living up to its potential to advance economic, social and cultural rights? This question is at the heart of new research by the Center for Economic and Social Rights and the Human Rights Clinic at Sciences Po University, which will be presented at the side event. Discussants will share experiences that offer further insight into what influences the outcomes of reviews. Better understanding patterns in how these rights have been addressed, will help identify opportunities and challenges for using the UPR to tackle inequality and disadvantage around the world.
