Preparing the groundwork for CESR’s country-focused research and advocacy

CESR ground-breaking methodology will serve as the basis to carry out economic and social rights advocacy in different settings.

CESR has recently hired a Research Director to develop and oversee a new program of country-specific research. Ignacio Saiz comes to CESR from the International Secretariat of Amnesty International, where as Director of Policy he was responsible for managing thematic research teams on a range of issues including economic, social and cultural rights.

With over ten years of human rights research and management experience, his appointment will boost CESR’s capacity for effective advocacy in specific contexts where its new methodology can help to expose the policy decisions and practices behind patterns of severe deprivation.

CESR’s country work will involve a multi-disciplinary team of researchers working in close collaboration with partners and allies at the national level on concrete strategies for effecting change.
